Diamond Elite on Delta….most FFs appreciate quiet. The video Delta did (80s theme) was clever, but not intrusive. Most business folks who fly regularly aren't there to be entertained, and flying isn't a once or twice a year "special" trip. Its an extension of the office. So I tend to like it quiet…

Having pride in one's job, however, doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. I have met many FAs who go the extra mile to do a good job, show some pride in the company, and do the job right. They rock, and I usually write them up (positively…) I don't' complain about that kind of SWA spiel, and the folks doing the talking are usually good FAs….its just that for those of us who spend a lot of hours DHing around the world, we don't need to be entertained. Drinks, wifi, and quiet and nice luxuries in a busy world, and I personally enjoy my commute as a little "me" time as I go along…

Yes, the customers that actually provide revenue, not the guy hitching a free ride home. PA announcements are annoying but they are federally mandated. Might as well try and make them entertaining.

What I find particularly irritating is U.S. Airways giving the sales pitch for their ridiculously high APR credit card that allows you to board 30 seconds before everyone else.

We all do! I'm so freaking embarrassed when I'm non-revving or commuting and all of a sudden the quiet is interrupted with a "Special, Limited Time Offer" that drones on for 10 minutes and then has 3 follow-up announcements.

Most PAs are annoying and not essential. Have you ever heard one in the US that didn't end with "sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight." ??

The fun of international flying is you get to hear the same PA in 2 or 3 languages.
