I don't know if things will change because of this vote, but either way you will have a much different experience as a commuter compared to someone who lives in base.
Yes it is pricey, but there are some nice and affordable areas within an hour or two of the airport. Good luck!

Fly safe, follow the FOM/ops specs to a tee. The company can fire you for anything including anything they can think of.

Ask yourself this without pro standards who is going to support you through the process? You will be on your own and the company will eat your lunch and then some if they choose to. As for the PPA, it may be given back in the beginnings of negotiations in exchange for what management is trying to do with their Mint product. They want the Flight crew to address the mint cabin seperatly as part of their greetings and give mint clients "special" treatment. We will see how that goes over. ALPA will have some of these fixes ready, I hope. Protect yourself, follow the FOM these are uncharted waters. We just started this Marathon.
I agree that this begins a long road ahead.
