The key people representing Spirit are salaried (HR and management pilots). I'm not sure how the line pilots who are friends of management and attend on behalf of Spirit are compensated.

Not sure I agree at all...if you pay folks to show to do the meet and greet you might get folks who just want to be paid, not necessarily those who want to be there. I see where you're coming from but those who were there volunteered their time. If I was in their position I'd do the same

So when do I have to be concerned you'll show up and be willing to do my job for cheaper? Or let me guess- you want the job so bad you'll do it for free, right?

I wish you luck and success in your job search, but please leave that type of thinking at the door before kicking your shoes off and coming in.

Umm...no one forced them to be there or told them they had to participate. They were mostly DFW based folks from what I gathered and I appreciated the fact that they took time out of their schedules to show up...same as me. This really isn't a pi$$ing contest, this is a thanks to the folks who volunteered their time to show up and meet some folks who want to join the ranks.

You have heard of volunteerism right? In case you haven't that's where you give your time away...for free to help others out. Is there something I can do to help you as you seem unnecessarily angry?

You volunteer for a worthy cause. You show up to get paid by your employer.

Don't be fooled. Any line pilots there with Spirit in any official capacity are asked by Spirit management. Pilot hiring is a clique at Spirit. If you're not buddies with management types, you aren't going to the job fair.

Understand the labor 'climate' at NK. This isn't Delta Air Lines. Every gain and contractual issue here is hard fought. Things aren't cozy with our management.
