If there is an available pilot, I simply ask if they would like to fly the leg for pay. If they are game a call to scheduling with a request for a "jetway trade" takes place. Schedulers check the legalities and process the trade if both parties verbally agree.

SWA uses Crew Web Access.

I do commute and am occasionally able to drop the last leg or, even better, get paid for my commute.
Hi there shoelu,

It's nice that you can make a "jetway trade". At WestJet, we can not make a trade unless crew scheduling has 2 hours notice. On that note, if we don't figure it out ahead of time, we are out of luck. If the tables were turned and they needed someone, they could make it happen in minutes.

Can anyone out there flying for American and United Airlines tell me how they go about dropping their last leg for commuting purposes.

Thanks for your input.
