There's no such thing as a "military flight school." If you're military and you've got your wings & 750 hrs, you qualify.
Quick question for those in the know... do R-ATPs AUTOMATICALLY become ATPs when the 1500 hr mark is reached? There are some helo guys in my unit that are hoping so.

This training is not specific to a certain MOS. While there are no enlisted jobs trained here, if you become an Army Officer or an Army Warrant Officer, you can apply for Army flight school.

I think there will be a large influx of mil guys in the next 6-9 months due to the voluntary separation programs offered by the AF, but after that I'd guess that the numbers will drop back down to the norm. I'd guess there are at least 1500 mil guys who all punched very recently and flooded the market with competitive resumes.

Ha ha. Yes, the shortage.
I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but there is a very high demand for mil pilots, and they are being hired at rates unseen in many years. Right now there is a glut of them who are applying. When you meet them or hear them online "had my app out for nine months and nothing" you think that hiring isn't happening. How many mil guys have Delta, Southwest, and United hired in the last year? Answer: a lot.
It is happening guys. Pretty soon that backlog is going to be cleared out and then you are going to see lower time guys getting snatched up. With uncle tying active duty guys up for 10 years or more, where are those guys going to come from?
If you are considering getting out:
Get your licenses
Build your resume and professional contacts
Do an interview prep course
Luck favors the prepared. I had my apps out for almost a year before I heard a peep, but when the time came, I was ready.
