Default Offline jumpseat on jetBlue?

I searched in advance and all the JB JS threads were pretty old so I decided better to start a new thread rather than necro an old one.

Is there a way I can check JB JS availability without actually bugging a gate agent? If it helps, the commute I'm looking at is the AUS/JFK pairing. No specific dates as of yet, just a little preparation to figure out how I'm going to make it to work. No expectations but it would be a pleasant surprise if I could check JS availability and/or list for a JB JS in advance.

Thanks!

The jetblue process is a pain in the butt. It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to hours to get listed by phone. It is sometimes possible to walk up if you get a nice agent but don't count on it. No listing means you are not going. Plan ahead and get listed in advance.
Best way to check loads is to go to their website and attempt to buy 7 seats. They don't overbook so if they are offered you know at least 7 are available.
JB pilots please try for a walk up Jumpseat in your contract!

When did they change? It's been about 5 yrs since I used the JB JS, but it used to be so easy and nice.

Saber. Winter of 10 I think.

Some agents learned how to do it, others did not. When I was a captain at Blue I would often go do the walk of shame and do the if pilot from so and so does go we don't go. Not everyone does that.

It's actually quite simple. If you don't get a chance to list by phone then stop by the just ask desk and they will take care of you. We generally walk up to the gate to see if there is anyone jumpseating. If the gate agent gives you a problem we (pilots) won't leave until they get over themselves and get you taken care of. I haven't heard of any problems though and apologies to anyone that had issues. We all have some bad gate agents

The ask stations may or may not list you. Twice in the last year they refused stating a listing by phone is a requirement. It's all agent dependent if you do not have a phone listing.

Can someone please tell me what other airlines can JetBlue flight crew jumpseat on and how the Jumpseating "actually" works out with reliability?

I'm going to be commuting out of Pensacola, FL initially.

You can commute on most airlines as a JB pilot. You might want to get a copy of the ALPA Jumpseat guide. Gives you the ins and outs of each airlines procedures.
The commute out of Pcola will not be fun. For a small station probably has more commuters per capita then anywhere.
