As far as our passengers are concerned, SkyWest, ExpressJet, ASA, Mesa, Republic don't exist. Only the FF's know about the subcontracting and even they don't care - the mainline partner handles all ticket sales and customer service and that is who they deal with.

I saw the new SW add and was wondering why there were no Captains, only F/O's.
Or did the Captains all tell the company to shove it, until they get their new contract/raises?

It is a chronic PITA having to explain that airline pilots are not enjoying the kind of high-income, luxurious lifestyle the general public still thinks we are, while also having to explain who it is I actually fly for.
Perhaps if they had respect for the industry and declined suc generous offers of crappy pay, T&Cs would have been better. But alas... want that job in that shiny jet no matter the personal cost.
