Default New ALPA president announced.

By a vote of 22,997 to 20,481, Delta Captain Tim Canoll has won the election to become the next President of the Air Line Pilots Association.

Probably the best candidate. Also a lot of ex MEC admin guys that will be excited to keep their jobs. Wouldn't be surprised to see MH become an EA or similiar up there now.

That is extremely bad news for our profession. Not surprising though.

not to seem uniformed, but why? Scope issues? Poor leadership?

Confirms that ALPA has separated from the rank and file pilot to become its own corporation. Hell, I didn't even know Tim Canoll was running, he never sent us anything.

Maybe he will lead us. Record profits record gains for ALPA pilots.

Oops. Was dreaming. Best negotiating environment in our history. No leadership no goals.

Same old nothing.

I think that's about right.
ALPA National has become sort of a "US Department of Airline Pilots".

Not really a labor union anymore.

Just another big Washington bureaucracy. A govt agency funded by airline pilots.
More aligned with NMB, DOT, FAA, NTSB, etc. than with rank and file pilots.
