Unfortunately, the management here at Jetblue wants people that are "trainable." Someone who can still drink from the punch bowl and throw off the Union loyalists. With those times, you might be overqualified. Sorry man, keep pressing and don't give up!

I had 9300TT when hired. Background in 91,91K, 135,121,142. Graduate work in psychology. My take is that lots of emphasis was placed on internal reccs and subsequent follow ups (not just writing the letter or citing a name). If you had someone strongly advocating your employment, it held a lot of weight. This was a commonality among my classmates as well.

I'm not sure what JB is looking for. I attended a Vets in Blue, 3k+ PIC in fighters and trainers, half of that was IP time, pretty much every square checked that can be checked in a military career, internal LoR, and they never called. I have no ties to the NE nor have I ever lived there, but I own land in FL and told the folks at Vets in Blue that I'd be happy in FLL since I already own acreage in West Palm Beach. Only potentially negative thing I can think of is I had about 30 seconds to speak with their VP of talent at Vets in Blue, and when she looked at my resume' she said something to the effect of 'so if we were to interview you, the 1st thing I'd ask is what you'd do when the legacies call'. I had assumed that was a rhetorical question based on the way she asked it and the fact that this was a job fair and NOT an interview, so I nodded but didn't answer, but in retrospect I wonder if she wanted a reply. *shrug*
I attended that particular job fair with 2 friends, one was hired by US Air in January and the other was hired by SWA shortly thereafter, and I was called by 2 legacies over the summer yet none of us were called by JB. For me (and both my friends) it worked out for the best, but I found it odd that not one of us ever got a call from JB. I thought (and still think) JB is a great airline, but I'm certainly happy where I eventually landed. Just makes me wonder exactly what JB is looking for.

I live just north of Fort Worth, Texas so the "prefer applicants to live near a base" did not apply. Interesting about the military background and the legacy question. Several of those I interviewed with were turned down by B6 and are now employed by a legacy. Wondering if they're keeping stats on those that leave and correlating that with a military background? Three of my classmates have a military background - Marine helos (mostly), KC135, and can't remember the other.

ITS ALL ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW!!! blue darts, blue farts, still end up being who you know. 3500hrs, no pic, no blue dart. I got an interview within 7months of dropping my app and was in class 3 months after that. Minimums are not set in stone. It's about who u have batting for u...
Thats as much as I know. If anyone finds out the secret make sure to pm a brother!!

I've got 10,000+ and was asked variations of that at both interviews with JB. I possibly had a better answer the second time because I'll be in class on Thursday. I think they are concerned that applicants that they consider "highly qualified" by the legacies will jump ship at the first chance.
If you don't have 1000 TPIC I'd bet your chances are greater than if you have 5000 TPIC.
