Northwest and Delta since Mullin have been backers of the Democratic Party. Heck Al Checchi tried to run for governer of California against Gray Davis. Tom Daschle's wife used to be Northwest's biggest lobbyist.

Kinda interesting that the DOJ starts talking about an investigation into anticompetitive practices by Delta and now Anderson is talking Value Fares. Gonna be interesting to watch as the big 3 Behemoths try and take out the competition without antagonizing DOJ.

Well, let's not go overboard with the RA worship. He seems like the best of a bad crop, and he talks a great game.

But we should never forget the guy is a hard, tough, negotiator; a labor attorney; and above all, he is beholden first and foremost to the shareholders (NOT to employees).

Meanwhile he continuously craps all over the wholly owned subsidiaries and the contractors.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!!

Correct, sorry if I was not clear but I was specifically referring to the influence that Grinstein had in determining the CEO positions.

In the book, Airline without a Pilot, the author makes a case that Leo as CEO, was worse for DAL than 9-11.

That part of the video was entertaining, the news casters where asking "why it's so important to you (immigration reform) Mr. Anderson, is it personal or business?" Richard gave a nice heart felt response.

Do these people not pay attention to who is loading their bags (especially on the RJ's) on the plane or making their sandwiches in the terminal? Cheap labor sums it up

Wow, I was able to see Smisek live on CNBC last week, what a contrast.

Benzinga - Actionable Trading Ideas, Real Time News, Financial Insight

Smisek essentially has no message and instead gets continually peppered with statements/anecdotal evidence from the hosts about how bad LUAL was as a company.
He spends whole time making excuses for the operation/company/merger problems.

Say Again?

Seriously, you want sympathy? I worked for a contractor, DCI etc before DAL. What does RA have to do with your choices?

Gerry is the one who pushed Mo-Ron over Hollis Harris. So he is responsible.

You may be right.

Did some digging and found some info on Deltamuseum.org:

ra--> Pres & Coo, 10/28/83

HH--> Pres &Coo, 8/1/87

gg--> (Chairman & Ceo WAL), joined DAL BoD with merger, 4/1/87

I wasn't at the meeting, but I would suspect it would be pretty difficult to remove a sitting president and replace him with a Senior VP. That said, I blame the '81-'82 BoD for promoting ra in the first place!
