I don't think Avroman has chosen the turmoil that has surrounded his career. Mesaba has been a rollercoaster since the early 2000s because of decisions made by NWA, Delta, Mesaba, and Pinnacle management.

It's easy to tell regional pilots to pull themselves up by their bootstraps when you work for a major but it takes a fair bit of luck in addition to job compitance and interview skill to get to a major. Unless you founded a company and made yourself captain you got lucky and chose a regional that allowed you to upgrade which made you competitive when the majors started hiring.

We've all chosen to work for the man; some of us made the right guess and some of us didn't. I'm not sure getting upset with the decision makers of the industry is particularly good for mental health but I get it.
