My first Thanksgiving on the plantation. La Quinta dump in Killeen TX. Moldy room, uneven bed, wet carpet. At least it had a Denny's right in the parking lot, so I did get a Dinty Moore quality stew for Thanksgiving dinner. Then I enjoyed the soothing sounds of guys doing donuts in the parking lot all night as I anxiously anticipated my 4:30 am wake up to get the hell out of there.

I think I know that place. I went to school at NE Louisiana University, now known as U of Louisiana, Armpit Is that the same place??

If its the same place, West Armpit is home to "Duck Dynasty", high (cable TV) culture for sure!

I'd like a divorce for Christmas, but can't afford that much this year.

And, yes, real, no joke, timed out and no where else to go.
Best post ever....

Gawd that place was so depressing on a normal day. Rough to get that on T-Day...

Ha ha. Thanks Actually it was a tossup between that or the time I got the stomach flu while waiting for my commute home Wed, before Thanksgiving and had to spend two days at the Ramada up the street from IAH, barfing in the bowl. Pre remodel that place was the prototype for the "My Name is Earl" motel. Good times.

Hah!! I was there during the Col. Hartley era (Major Eggleston too) but finally finished at La Tech. You don't own an RV too?

Enjoy the holidays...
