Kew Runner is same company but runs scheduled shuttles btw LGA and JFK to Kew Gardens. I don't use it so not sure about sked or cost.

From your initial post, you may be confusing two different but similar sounding modes of transport. There is a "Crew" Runner as well as the "Q" Runner.
The Crew runner is actually run and paid for by Delta In Flight Service (though they subcontract it out to a private van company). It operates between Kew Gardens and JFK/LGA as well as between LGA and EWR. The nice thing about it is that it is FREE though you should give a couple bucks tip). The down side is that it has a very limited schedule and since it is run for the Flight Attendants, they have first dibs on it and if there are more F/As than seats, you as a pilot are the first booted off. You also are supposed to be in full uniform to use it. The schedule can be found on the Delta net on the IFS page by clicking on the link for the NYC F/A base page. The stop that you would use in Kew Gardens is actually a couple blocks north of Metro Ave at the 7-11 store.
The Q runner is a scheduled van service operated by the Kew Gardens car service. The first vans leave at 0430 and then every half hour after that. The pick point in Kew gardens is on Lefferts just about 50 yrds south of Metro. At the top and bottom of the hour (particularly in the early morning) you will see a gaggle of crewmembers hanging out and two minivans there.....one will go to JFK and one to LGA. It's a flat fare of $8 plus whatever you feel like giving for a tip. When I have morning trips, I use the Q runner all the time. It is very dependable. Technically, you can get picked up at the airports by them as well, but it can be problematic as they are not always necessarily at the airport or making a run there. Because of that, when I'm going from the airport to the Kew, I generally use one of the two car services, 'Kew Gardens' or 'General'......You can often find someone to split the fare with you, particularly at night, though if I'm not in a hurry, I'm not against using the bus/subway.

Also, the "airporter" goes between JFK/LGA and EWR I think. Hours are roughly 5a-1130pm. $13

If I could tag into MikeF16 post with an additional question about NY commuting. I'll be flying out of JFK but most of my commutes will likely come into LGA. A friend has a pad in Queens and is offering to put my name in if an opening comes up. Would I be better off in the Kew area? Got a few months before needed so I have time to look around.

Cheapest routes I used:
Free--Crew Runner (Delta FA shuttle)--pull down schedule from Delta in flight service NY page. I used it about 10 times in past 4 months. It has limited times and can be hard to find at airport and I always had plan b since pilots are 5 out of 5 on priority list of who gets on. Busiest shuttles were early morning 0600 to JFK. Shuttles were never full coming from airport to Kew. Schedule changes every few months so check it periodically. Long ride to EWR but don't have to go up and down stairs.
Kew to JFK--2.50 on Q-10 bus (express one is best). Runs regularly and takes about 40-45 minutes. I used this all the time. Down side is it drops you off at Term 5 so you have to walk upstairs to airtrain (free) for Term 2 and 4.
Kew to LGA--2.50 on Q70 limited and transfer (free) at Roosevelt to Subway to Kew Gardens. takes about 45 minutes and then you have 15 min walk to Metro/lefferts. Lots of walking but also time to stop at Dani's for pizza on the way to the crash pad.
Kew to EWR--LIRR from Kew to Penn Station (4-5 dollars) then NY transit to EWR (8.75 for military (12.75 normal)...you can purchase senior ticket and show military ID) via app you can do this all electronically. Then Airtrain to ewr (free with NJ transit ticket). Takes about an hour and 20 minutes if you line up the times right but plan 2 hours.
Q runner taxi leaves every 30 minutes from Kew during the day and costs 8 to LGA and JFK from Metro/Lefferts.
Other taxis (Kew Gardens and General) cost 12 to JFK and 15ish to LGA and 18 LGA to JFK. I preferred General. Sometimes they are prompt and other times you will wait 20-30 minutes.
