1. Avoid Brooks B. at all costs
2. Best technique, just ask guys who you fly with or in the lounges about what they know. In-person word-of-mouth is the best way to get a line on a "good" pad.
3. I've heard good things about this place: http://crashpadoasis.webs.com/ Never stayed there myself as I lucked out and got into the original JB pad across the street from the Hangar.
