This is correct however you have to comply with the same rules if you went through passenger screening. KCM is a alternative screening method. It does not change what you are allowed to carry.

After the 13th this will be a moot point unless they change the rules and state if out of uniform you must not carry liquids greater than 3 oz etc.

Can you provide a link from the TSA? I have searched and cannot find it anywhere and I see wide variations on what is allow and not. The other day I was Deadheading in civies with company pilot ID "naturally" screen er says its ok to carry liquids and starbucks thru screening. This was in the airport employee line since my company is just now saying they will pay for KCM.

Koshetz said allowing badged flight crews in uniform to bring liquids through the checkpoint is a national TSA policy and is not unique to Orlando International. She would not discuss TSA policy regarding airport employees in other cities.

Screeners are often wrong. Originally crew members had to comply with the liquids restriction. We worked hard to get a exemption however it is in uniform only. Here is a statement from a TSA rep.

From time to time each airport can be significantly different due to little fifedome microclimates. Pre KCM, MCO for a while (maybe even still?) wouldn't let uniformed crews carry coffee through, simply because the once a year flyers would give them Bolshevik flack about it. So they banned crews from doing it just so they wouldn't have to get yelled at by someone in flip flops.

Went through today in STL in plain clothes. Had an extra TSA person there for random checks. I just pulled my bag up to her and she only checked the outside pockets she could see. She didn't even remove my flight case from the Clip. Looks like they may only be looking for weapons and not trying to hold you up. It all lasted 15 seconds.
So if you must get your 40oz of hair gel or moisturizer through don't put it on the outside lol.
