Hello Seniors, at Spirit that is

NK focus for the future
Something to think about. The majority of the bottom half of the seniority list continues to tell us that they care only about money. Go read the Spirit of NKS topic, you'll see that sentiment expressed more often than not.
They are saying that they will leave if our union doesnt get them the money they want.
Do any of you senior pilots fear that the union will give up QOL in exchange for money? What happens if we give up QOL for cash in an attempt to get the juniors to vote yes, but don't make large enough gains to keep those pilots from leaving. Where does that leave the rest of us? We wrote a contract to please guys who are no longer here?
This is not a rant against junior pilots it's a rant againt giving up ANYTHING to please any one block of voters. We must, MUST, pull together and build a contract for the long haul.

Note to the guys who think the above is an attack on them, if you honestly desire to stay at Spirit because you have great seniority ( in the overall theme of things) and you like the quick upgrade and you think Spiritis "the place to be for the future" , then you should be focused on the long term.
Somewhere in your training you heard this, "make sure you always know where the airplane will be in five minutes, and get your head there NOW!"
I'm saying make sure you know where you want to be in 5, 10, 15 years, and get your head there NOW!

Rather than further fracture this group, let's move forward. Any delay in getting a deal done is just taking money out of the pocket of every pilot on the seniority list. And if that delay is self inflicted, shame on us.

Some might leave based on the outcome (or lack thereof) of a new contract, but most won't. And many that will have had their eyes set on another carrier the whole time anyway. All they are waiting for is that interview invite. Nothing will change that. And that is OK.

BTW, I'm one of the junior old pharts. I see both sides and I want to leave this group in better shape than when I found it.

Who is talking about giving anything up? 2 year guy here. I want at least industry average pay. For what in exchange? For relief from XXXX in the contract? No. For doing a good job and demanding decent pay.
So glad someone stepped up and made change.

My thoughts exactly! We aren't giving anything up, only improvements in pay, retirement, LTR, and overtime. Then I'm happy! I don't think that is asking too much from "The Most Profitable Airline in the United States".

Why can't you have more money and quality of life? Timing is right as far as the industry goes. What are you going to do? Keep costs for the company low, undercut the industry, and depend on growth for a chance at future quality of life? Maybe you can pay your bills when you upgrade? Sounds like chasing the carrot and a lot like REGIONAL mentality.

Agreed, but the ones fracturing the group would be the ones who say "nothing counts but what I want". But, my topic title is regretable I shouldnt have used the word seniors. I'll try and change it.
