Sparta:

Oh please, let's be honest about the average pilot's true motivations. Better for the customers? Yes!
Better for the company? Maybe.
Better for me because maybe a few extra minutes will allow me to grab some food, call home, take a dump, etc.?

We are all narcissists to some extent and if you think that sidestepping above 1000 feet is a risky maneuver, you don't belong in a cockpit! I think Asiana is hiring.

I applaud SWAPA's BOD for finally admitting that our relationship with the airline under GK is quite different than under Herb. Now the (investing) public will know it too!

And Whack, you can continue to be part of the problem or help be the solution. Sitting here and lambasting guys you have never flown with is counterproductive! I fly 14 days per month with guys (and gals) who are professional, want the best for the pilot group and the airline as well. Sure, we make mistakes, we are all human. And until they replace me with a robot, a dog or a potted plant, I will continue to do the best job I can, and this is rooted in the values of everyone I fly with.

You sir, are part of the 10%. Look in the mirror.

In the current profitable environment, Herb Kelleher wouldn't have given a second thought about giving all SWA employees a raise. In fact, he would have bragged about doing it.

Delta guy. Wishing you all the best and a speedy outcome to well-deserved contract improvements. Your productivity as a pilot group is well known and respected. Thanks for all the rides to work and general friendliness. Hopefully we can get a great contract done early over at DL and give you some more leverage, or vice versa?

As for sidesteps, I don't ask for them but always want to accept if offered. They're fun and generally safe. Seems though that I only ever hear SW guys/gals asking for them. Probably a combination of company culture and gas savers. Either way, more power to ya.

Oh please, Sparta you weren't even born when I graduated from college!

If you aren't in this business to serve the customers, then take your trolling elsewhere child.

Whats really sad is reading all these post about some of you pilots that are so miserable and then there are pilots like me that would love to be in your shoes and be working for Southwest.

That's where you're completely wrong. Nobody is miserable, they just want what they have earned through the years building a great company now that it's wildly profitable.

Yeah, lots of Intel available on your profile........not!

Welcome to APC. Where you can sling crap at people with anonymity. Hiding all the time and offering very little in the way of contributions. I am trying to figure out why you doubled your posts but really said nothing...........just saying. Now back to the subject at hand.

Everyone has a limit. Mine will be when the pilot group here at SWA votes to strike. I am willing to let the process continue. Engaging in anything other then giving my best effort (which isn't always perfect) until then is not in my moral makeup. If and when it gets to a strike I will advocate total shutdown that is compliant with the law.
