If you're in an emergency, WHY on earth accept runway changes? ATC is working FOR YOU, not the other way around. If you've been up for 11 hours on an all nighter, and you loaded a specific approach, briefed, why let them change it up on you?

And listen to the tape, the last one was voluntary.

It figures that someone had to get butthurt and spoil the light ribbing.

Delta landed at OSU v CMH unintentionally
NWA landed in the wrong COUNTRY, Belgium v Germany
USAF Moose landed Pete Knight v MacDill
Who knows how many landed wrongly at Biggs AAF v El Paso

Think it can't happen to you, good luck.

You forgot Western landed at Buffalo, WY instead of Sheridan. IIRC, the captain was on Johnny Carson, too.

You need to look at the evolution of technology however. Back in the days when it was hard to discern a cockpit from the bridge of a uboat.. sure, I can see it. Now days though there is little excuse during the era of glass cockpits and rnav approaches for landing at the wrong airport. That's why it's been exceedingly rare in recent years.

When your goggles fog all them airports look the same......During the controller strike, center turned you loose at 5000 ft. Cleared for approach, no tower. Lots and lots of procedure turns outbound.

Actually the Delta pilots landed on the right runway, but the airport authority built taxiway in the wrong location.

Actually, they were just several years too late. Back in the late 90s, they used taxiway Mike as 09L/27R while the actual runway was being reconstructed. It was only for T-props and, I believe, some NBs.

Not to mention other airlines have done this at other airports too. But it makes him feel good about himself and his low GPA because he partied too much in school.
