That actually sounds like a good deal. Do y'all still have very good health insurance too? Like the kind where you have a kid with complictions and only pay a small deductable?

In any case, a sick system like that could be something that I could support here (especially if it came with better insurance) but the transition would be the mine field. There's no way we could go to that instantly, effectively making everyone new hire day one employees for sick.

The issue with sick isn't the total hour amount. 240 and especially 270 is well into the threshold of what should be considered short term disability anyway, and that (STD and LTD) is something we need to improve on. And we need to stop letting the company use our self funded DPMA against us. That's none of their business and can no longer be used to prop up insufficient disability at any threshold. We need at least 66.7% STD that takes effect at a lower threshold and the same amount for LTD til age 65.

They do all that and they can lower the yearly hourly max to 10%ish like SWA has and I'd be fine with that. Oh and no harassment at any tier beyond the rare one in a million call out every holiday kind of guy etc. For the other 99.9% of us, IMSAFE = verified.

SWA is self insured thru UHC. It mostly works, but there's been some instances where UHC(SWA) get difficult. You guys are probably familiar with that concept.
