With the outrageous cost of hotels in the area, most folks are either in a crash pad or using Airbnb to find a room. With the Super Bowl in town, hotels are downright unaffordable right now.

My advice is to go the Airbnb route, and try to room up with/near your classmates. Hopefully by the time you get here the costs will have come down out of the stratosphere.

What's the purpose of not providing lodging during training? Do other airlines do that? Seems odd...

You must be new to the 121 world! The only reason that matters 99.9% of the time is money.

Some pay for it all the way through training. Others pay for just indoc and makes you pay for it during aircraft training. Then, of course, there are the outliers that don't pay for any of it.

From what I heard, the new manager at red roof doesn't give a discount anymore.

This hotel situation for new hires is getting out of control. Shoot even those that are SFO based are having a hard time finding hotels at a decent rate. The SFO area is one of the most expensive places in the country for homes/loddging. I think its time for the company to step up and cover the cost of some s?hole while these new gals and guys are in training.

Most likely won't happen while we are in negotiations.

The lack of accommodations may prevent people from coming here. Going broke paying for hotels while in training sucks and then when the hiring stops in the summer there's not much to look forward to.

paid hotel during training is usually negotiated by the union and put in a pilot contract... Hopefully you guys get it, same with Frontier. Now you are all ALPA, should be guaranteed in there
