Midnight sims for new hires CONFIRMED. Was on a van with a new hire FO that just graduated. He and his partner did 11pm to 3am sims at Airbus Miami. He said he is still recovering. He knows they were not obligated to do it but received an email saying that he would get off training pay earlier if they accepted.
So I humbly stand corrected. I thought this was a rediculous rumor to keep talking about on here. It now gives creedance to any other rediculous rumor posted on here..

Just a dumb pet peeve of mine, but we don't "graduate", we train and check. IMO graduation is a term reserved for long term schooling like high school and college. The fact that the FAs use the term for their training is even more annoying. You don't graduate from something that takes 6 weeks to complete. Maybe you get a certification of some sort to enrich your knowledge base but you don't graduate. Sadly for many FAs training is the hardest thing they've ever done in their lives so perhaps graduation is more appropriate.

Wow! Our low pay is used as leverage AGAINST new hires to get them to go the extra mile. Love it.

picking up out of base has nothing to do with getting a new contract. I drop and pick up to make my qol better. The sum of it all is a guarantee month or close to it. Cause see if i drop a trip in my base it has to be covered by someone. But i guess if i only flew out of my assigned base they'd give us a sparkling new contract on a silver platter. Worry about what matters. Go picket and take your blood pressure medication. I'll see you there on the 11th

Just ran a few numbers based on being a junior captain at Spirit vs the new Delta and subsequently United snap-up numbers. Even if you are a junior captain at Spirit or will be by January 2017, if you were to get hired at one of those companies it would only take 4 years based on 75 hours a month at the potential rates to make your money back. THAT IS FOR PAY ONLY. It doesn't even include retirement or profit sharing/ bonus plans which skew the numbers even more.
