finally some insight into the direction fornaro would like to go.
1. expansion into smaller markets
2. keep costs low
3. improve reliability and reputation (cleaner planes, better on time etc)

This raises more questions than answers. How cryptic.

Really sounds like we may be keeping the 319s. Fornaro made mention to how smaller markets with the 319s make great sense for us.
Nice to hear the CEO address that our planes are dirty and service is bad and it needs to change. Clear this is why Ben was showed the door. I just hope Bendo was squirming in his seat.
Oh, and the contract is an "ongoing process" ...yeah..

I heard Christie mention that our exfuel casm will shift up then go flat in 2017 due to engine maintenance. They expect it to go flat to down in 2017 which made me think they don't anticipate a more expensive labor deal by then...
as far as the "ongoing process" They never show their cards so i don't put any meaning into statements like this although it is aggravating....

The investor call is on the ir website. Would really hope pilots spend the hour to listen to the CEO directly and his view of the airline versus half rate bloggers who show up with your google alerts ping "Spirit" on the internet. The call is very clear on where we are going, nothing cryptic.

Contract aside, for a moment, I really liked what Bob said and where he wants to take the airline

One thing we have to remember about the financial blogging sites is there is zero accountability on them. Sites like Seeking Alpha and others like it do not go back and correct inaccuracies or inaccurate predictions. You really have to take everything they (which are amateur financial "experts", pretty much guys like me) say with a grain of salt. Never, ever, EVER rely on these sites for true investing advice. You'll cry every day looking at your portfolio if you do.
I haven't had a chance to listen to the call yet, but the initial reports look good, looks like expectations were beat. It'll be interesting to see what the forecast is for next quarter. Looking at how it's up over 5%, I'm guessing there hasn't been a downward forecast in margins expectation.

The thing that actually makes me a little nervous is the fact that they ended 2015 with over $800M in cash.

I'm just so f*@&~ng ****ed at the whole process. While Spirit continues with the profits, it takes us 5 years to get a new contract. If the economy hiccups, they'll be knocking on the door right away asking for MORE relief.
What a deal!
