But here's the current picture: upgrade at Delta is less than 2 years (sure, MD80 out of NYC, but stil...), and the massive wave of retirements hasn't hit yet. Spirit currently has over 80 aircraft, and the current orders take us to around 150, which means we currently have all the captains we'll need. A few older folks retiring here and there, but largely a young group. And then factor in the current contract. Sure, we're negotiating, so hopefully it gets in line with the industry, but with the current state of the negotiations, most FO's (and some captains) are no longer waiting for it and are updating apps. That's probably why there are still tickets available.

Well obviously how many actually leave is the wild card. But we're past the halfway point with the airplanes, so upgrade time is quickly rising, unless many do actually leave.
