No worries. First year pay is tough at Spirit.

Default Fedex Pay

Hello!
I made $486K last year B777 Captain for 10 months/ 2 months training pay. 1 Draft and about 7 carryover trips. Got many friends over $600K.
I am in 28th year bidding 40%.
Many FOs make $300K .
Great Job!
Personally, I think the Best!
Not to say WE Don't want More.
Salute!
Niteflyer

2nd Year easy 200K if you go to 777, which iscavalable to new hires.

I don't know a more lucrative year 2 deal but there may be some out there.

FedEx pilots are ****ed we passed our last contract. When senior guys are flying carry over and getting 120-140 hrs a month while they expect everyone else to pass up a draft trip to put pressure on the company. You have your answer. $486K during contract negotiations, I know whose team you are on, your own team.

Yes, there are a number of them. I'm on track to do about that this year, but I'll probably decide to take most of the summer off, so that's probably won't happen. People are taking advantage of additional flying at 150%, now that negotiations are over.

As far as second year pay, someone said that at least 12 pilots on probation got awarded 757 captain slots on the bid today. Happy to see quick progression for those who want it.

I will probably gross something near what you're talking about (before you add my 401k, profit sharing, or military retirement) and I am working less now than I ever did in the military. No email, no taskers, no unit fund raisers, no deployments, no exercises, no inspections, no 100% bs mandatory annual training, no looking like I was just thrown in the pool after I fly, and no mandatory fun to name just a few. I am away from home more but in much smaller chunks; however, it is definitely less actual work. If I have no life now I'm afraid what you'd call the last 20 years I spent walking the planet. I think some people don't know what real work is.

I posted some guys were making 180 to 200k in the second year. You posted you would be in that ballpark not counting PS and the DC plan. That's another 40% at least so you're in the ballpark of 252k to 280K for the year. Not bad for year two. I made 28k in year two.

You are completely missing the point. This isn't scwantz waving over check size or one airline being better or worse than another. I only replied because you asserted a 2nd year FO would have no life if they earned a certain amount of money, I disagree. Other than not having my 24 year old body and all the bennies that went with it, my life is as good or better than it has ever been.

Edit: deleted some nonrelated Lt earnings whining and adding this: incorrect assumption on PS. Any PS I earn on this year's work is paid next year. My PS for this year was considerably lower than what you assumed. I made very typical money year 1.
