So they basically stretched out the delivery schedule by one year. Not a big deal, really.

Southwest, which flies only variants of Boeing 737s, expects to end this year with 723 planes in its fleet, a number that will dip to 700 in 2017 before rising again to between 730 and 750 aircraft in 2018.

Those Aircraft were 3 yrs out as it was. I wouldn't think it would have any effect on hiring this year.

Hasn't the pilot group been saying "No Contract, No Max"? They're getting what they're asking for in some way. Easier to push off deliveries while negotiation is ongoing rather than answer to shareholders why they have planes that pilots aren't flying.

Only if you vote yes on another concessionary contract or side letter!
