Welcome to the forums!! Do you fly the I-5 corridor? If you see a dark blue car going the speed limit, that would be me!

You are correct, there is a breadth (not breath!) of experience here and I hope you become an active participant. There are a few law enforcement types here, you know, the gun wielding kind.

Do you ever fly in Eastern WA? I know it's very hard to get into the aviation division. I learned to fly in Wenatchee and now live in Spokane.

I started there in Yakima for one year then transfered, and I do fly over there all the time. I started flying in Spokane at SFF. Wenatchee is beautful and so is Spokane, I lived in the Valley for a couple of years while I was in the Air Force 89-91.

A CHP officer gave me my PPL checkride in Santa Rosa in the early 90's. Nice guy and had some funny stories after the checkride was over.
I live in beautiful downtown Camas. Welcome!

Yes, Pearson would probably be your airport of choice. If you come down to Camas, the Grove AP has quite a contingent of airline people both active and retired. The Columbia Gorge does put out a bit of wind thats for sure.
Sounds like a great job you have flying nice equipment..

Yes we do have top notch equipment. The equipment we carry in the 206's is worth more than the plane. Its a great job and I love going to work everyday.

Default Hello trooper

I live in Washington as well Gig Harbor and I happenned to see one of your C182 at KTIW. Nice plane! I was having lunch with my dad and he retired out of WSP. I am currently a professional firefighter with a BS Public Administration and working on my ratings and was wondering if you had all of your ratings prior to entering WSP?

I am working on becoming a CFI part-time and keep the job with the fire department. But maybe WSP is a better path to follow my passion of aviation and stay in Washington.

Is their a long list of interested people trying to get into the aviation division? I was once told you need to be a trooper first then apply. Does your position in aviation have some sort of incentive based pay over trooper wages? Are you looking into advancing your career into commercial aviation?

I hope that you can shed some light on your profession for me I am interested!

Thanks,

Kevin
