Default New job

Just passed my CFI Single Engine check ride this morning and that means I am finished with the ATP program!

And since they are short on instructors and the chief pilot of our location put in a good word for me, I'm getting standardized in PHX and starting instructing on Monday! New private pilot students, and to think I was in their shoes last August.

I'm more nervous about starting to instruct that I was for any check ride.

Congrats on the new job! Keep your head on a swivel and remember that they now look up to you to teach them and to provide a positive role model in the air. I was never a civilian instructor but I'm sure it is the same way. I've found instructing to be challenging and rewarding. You have a great time ahead of you!

Just like USMCFLYR said, there are lots of fast moving aircraft that fly around where you are. Keep an eye out, and have fun! How old are you? Are you working toward a bigger goal or just having fun doing some instructing?

Enjoy it! Sometimes I wish I was back at that point in life. Don't get me wrong, things are great now, but there was always something fun about flying with new studs for the first time.
