Thumbs up Konichiwa...

I just started reading these posts at APC last week during my hunt for info on our proposed merger with DAL. I'm in my 25th year at NWA after some charter, corporate flying and Navy (P-3's) before that. Gotta say there is much more civility and intel here than in other places I've cruised through. Guess that's why I decided to join in....

Welcome to the forums! You must have discovered by now that this site is quite different in its tone and tenor. And I'm always glad to see an "oldtimer" join to balance out the many teenagers present here.

NWA holds a special place in my heart for it was the airline in which I took my first international flight. And to tell you how long ago that was, the 747 was painted "Northwest Orient." I also inherited from my father the real metal spoons and forks stamped in the same way. Those were the good, old days, eh?

Airwolf,

Welcome, good to see a fellow USN guy. I'm in my final weeks on AD prior to retirement. We'll save the P-3 jokes for later, over a beer of course.

APC has been a good resource for me. There are differences of opinion but I have learned from those as well.

Take care,

SC

Thanx for the reply and I remember well the Northwest Orient days. We didn't become NWA, Inc. till after I was well on my way.

Who said I was USN? USNR, Baby! What P-3 jokes? They're all true! The Per Diem 3 was a fine ship and great airline training.....

You probably know more P3 jokes than I anyway!

The P-3 will be missed in the fleet. Now if they could just get the P-8 (737) thing going........

Take care.

Welcome to the board! Remember try and ignore the flamefests on some of the merger threads. There is a lot of good info on here but remember you have to dig through the crap to find the the info nuggets.
