Red face Fng

Hi all,
I'm the FNG here on the forum. I'm currently flying bizjets in Southeast Asia. I am originally from the Northeast US then moved to SoCal then on to SE Asia. I flew various Bizjets from Westwinds, Hawkers through Gulfstreams. I have been a lurker on this site for a year and decided to make the leap.
Hope to hear from you guys/gals.

I am really enjoying SE Asia. The flying is great and living conditions are wonderful. My wife and I are very happy here. Schools are excellent, cost of living is low and I don't have a car anymore.

Hey. I'd love to hear anything you have to say about flying over there, particularly on the bizjet end of things!

How did you end over there?

Hey Shanks,

You didn't happen to meet a couple of CX pilots last year in DB looking for a realtor did you? I met a guy with his wife and baby while in DB with a friend about last September or October. Anyway, he is a corporate pilot so I thought I would ask!

I've been wanting to do the expat thing for about five years now. My wife had narrowed down the options to Europe, SE Asia and Dubai, Abu Dhabi. I did not consider airline positions just bizjet. A job fell through in Germany and I resent my resumes out at 6 month intervals with updated info and a company in SE Asia called. I answered, and my wife did the research and gave the green light and here we are.
As far as flying goes, everyflight is International, so no pop ups. 48 hours is considered drastically short notice, rarely happens. Most common destinations are East Coast of China, SE Asia, Australia, Indonesia & Malaysia as well as India, with the occasional Dubai trip. I remember when I first started flying I was treated as a pilot and then slowly started getting treated more and more like a bus driver. ( No disrespect to the bus drivers) Not over here. It's rather refreshing.

Sorry to disappoint but no. I just got here in HK about 4 months ago , live in Tung Chung, and am loving it. Being virtually tax free with a housing allowance sure makes it easy to put money in the bank. As hard as they are to come by I would recommend the corporate flying expat job to anyone

That's cool, I have a few friends that live in the Carribean Coast. I spend plenty of time in Tung Chung. How often do you fly? I'll buy ya a cold one at The Aviator if ya want to meet up. I'll be there a couple of times in the next 10 days.
