Default Introduction

Hello all, I'm a 26 year old with a family and kids. I'm Lucky enough to have a very stable municipality job that pays the bills and affords me time off frequently. (24 hour shifts 9 days a month) Very intrested in pursuing aviation as a second job/career and after retiring making it full-time. Recently passed my PPL checkride and researching what step I should take next. I have already read through I'll the 'cessna pilot center' instrument material, and am thinking about doing the instrument rating at the local FBO where I recieved my PPL. Currently my goal is to get my ratings up to CFII in the most efficient way possible to set me up for part-time charter flying/instructing. I love the idea of instructing and have no issue with doing that for a long time. However, I know that if all I did was fly around in a 172 instructing I would be dissapointed. I very much would like to fly more complex aircraft in a charter enviorment as well as instructing. So anyway look forward to communicating and will be posting some questions in their respective areas shortly. Fly safe,

Let me guess your a firefighter or a paramedic. I am too IAFF(PM me for the local.) I also fly full time for a 135/91 gig. It is possible trust me. I am about the same age as you although no kids. and have been flying since I was 16. Next get your instrument rating and most definitely do it at your local FBO(saves a ton of money.) Charter is more then a possibility for you however start networking now. It will be your saviour. That's what got me my gig. Any way stay safe. If you can't PM yet then you can email me @ jban642@yahoo.com. Stay safe.
