Hello
Hello everyone, just thought I'd check in. I have all my ratings except ATP and around 800 hours with 50 Multi. I have an old V-tail Bonanza that I've had for a few years so most of my time is High performance and complex but single engine so it doesn't help much when looking for a job. Flying is what I always wanted to do and I started at 16 and fly every chance I can get. I was actually able to fight the urge when the time came for college and take the advice from a regional captain I had met my senior year of high school 12 years ago. The advice was a 2 year medical degree and a 4 year Business degree while flying on the side and said I should be able to afford a small plane with a healthcare job so no matter what I would be able to fly in the end. Well 12 years later I end up with an Associates in Cardio-Pulmonary Science, a general Associate of Science to transfer to a University and a B.S. in Business Management from an expensive private university, thankfully hospital paid for mostly all of it because I'm laid off also. I thought I would share that for the furloughed guys who are getting discouraged and this is my second time laid off as a healthcare professional in 6 years, so if you love to fly stick it out because it happens in every industry just not as many people so the news doesn't headline it.
