I guess the only details are: DUCK!

Details are pretty slim, lots of labor leaders (AFA, ALPA, IAM, Teamsters) are going to be in Chicago tomorrow.

Frankly, I hope I'm wrong.

Labor wont be involved in the intial stages of this one like DAL-NWA, highly unlikely an annoucement will be made until maybe the week after

Low & Slow, you've been right on many occasions. Let's see how you do this week. I've got a feeling you're onto something.

"I didn't sign up for this."
"But I wouldn't last a day in a cubicle."

A vicious dilemma. Kind of like having chips and no cheese or cheese and no chips. A rock and a hard place...

I was coming across the Pond yesterday and the talk on 123.45 was that UAL is being split in two with half being bought by CAL and half by AA. I have no way to to check the source but it was an AA guy saying he got it from those in the know. Good luck guys.

If only I had a dime for every time I received these insider tips! The guy on 123.45 could be right, but that's also in my humble opinion the worst possible thing that could happen. AA is bleeding cash, still with guys on furlough. UAL employees have already been dragged through the mud for a decade, and CAL has finally put together a respectable corporate culture within the last decade as well - something that could easily be undone with merger issues over seniority. I would imagine this would require immeasurable outside financing and a crafty stock swap. I'm pretty sure we (CAL) nor AA have the money in the bank for such a thing. Sadly, and I think the UAL guys will agree with me, I think parting out UAL is something Tilton wouldn't think twice about if the price was right.
