I absolutely don't believe that at all. Once...maybe...three times...somebody is making the story up. If true, PM me the date and flight numbers. We will take care of it in-house.

I have taken several DAL jump-seaters on the freighter...we even shared our food with one once because the caterers were unaware of the jump-seater....and this is after the SLI. Likewise, I have been treated very courteously by most DAL captains while jumpseating.

Most of the NWA Captains I know will not only accommodate DAL jumpseaters but will also make sure they get a first class seat if possible.

I'm publicly calling you out on this sailingfun. I think you are completely lying. I don't believe this incident ever happened and that you made it up completely because of your non-stop hatred of the NWA pilot group.

Every time any Captain HAS to deny a jumpseat to anyone, that captain has to fillout an Air Safety Report as to why the jumpseat was denied. I'll bet there hasn't been a single ASR for a jumpseat denial in the last year.

I would tell you to back up your claim sailingfun, but I know you can't. Just like most of your posts.

Is this your same imaginary friend that gives you those voices in your head? Even if this NWA person is real, and this person really said such a thing - why would you post it? What an utterly stupid thing to do.

If some Delta pinhead told me that Delta is a "culture of arrogance" or a "culture of bending over for management", etc., who would be stupid enough to post that? What good could it possibly do? You can't prove it, so why say something so divisive?

This is an internet forum, what do you want to do, post a transcript of the conversation? You'd just call BS then too. How bout a video of the conversation? You'd claim it was staged. Hmmm....actually Carl we only need to fill out an ASR if we refuse a NWA pilot. The Captain is still the GOD and can refuse the JS, not that I agree with that, except if a scab tried to fly with me. It's in the FOM, ya can check it out.

Dude...I back up Carl 100% on this issue. We don't have a history of denying jump-seats. In fact, we take great pride in being a very jump-seater friendly airline. A guy being denied a jump-seat once for whatever reason...I can believe that. But three times on the same route in a relatively short period of time....absolute BS.

Also, I called sailing out to PM me the date and the flight numbers...still have not received it...he can't back up the claim. Because if it did happen....I will personally talk to our jump-seat committee about this.

I gotta say that we have some a##holes around. I have been chewed out by some of our Captains because I had jump seat and did not check in with them after the agent went ahead and gave me a seat assignment. Of course I told them to pack sand. I'm sure we have those egotistical power hungry guys on both sides. They typically have Capt on their mail box or Capt in the phone book. You know the type. Just have to correct these guys that's all. It's not the norm. Three times in a row is B. S. Back it up or retract the post. Sorry to all the guys who have capt on the mail box or in the phone book, that does not mean your a bad person but I am worried sick about you.

I have refused jumpseaters 2 times, once EAL sacb once a CAL scab and that is all even for all over the most polit. situ I can thnk of. BUTT keep your eyes o B. B> an airbus capt. he still hasn't forgiven us for the first merger where we should have paid him to 744 paid levels to date of hire for the DC-9 flying he had to do. Never mind he came from a DC-9 airline.

Overall we are great with JS..... But I know personally of several of our captains that denied JS multiple times to guys from Jet Blue because of our BK contract. Seems they felt it was all Jet Blues fault for our crappy pay scales that we voted for. I spoke to our ALPA JS chairman and was informed that they were in fact tracking a few individuals who were denying the JS to Jet Blue pilots. In fact he went so far as to say they suspected some of specifically bidding routes in order to do this, go figure.

I will ignore Carl's personal attack. He should however take the huge chip off his shoulder. He will find life more enjoyable. The denials were over a 6 month period. I just went through 3 days of training with him and have no reason to believe he would lie or fabricate any of it. He was told he could ride in the back if a seat was available but would not be taken in the cockpit because of the hostilities between the pilot groups. When someone tells you a story like this you don't ask for flight numbers and dates. I will however call him when he gets back off his next trip and see if he has them written down.

First off......as a commuter I will never sit still for any captain turning away a jumpseater. Yes it is his/her right, but he/she can expect to catch $hit from me the rest of the trip once the door is closed. And yes, I would tell him that in front of the jumpseater he just sent pack'en. (only exception is a scab)

But, that said, I have NEVER seen a captain turn a jumpseater away! That includes the years I was in MEM and guys ranting about FredEx guys prior to them joining ALPA. NWA is a commuter airline, the very vast majority of us would never start a jumpseat war.

I join Carl and Freight Guy wanting details. I will help with the blanket party if it's true...........but I doubt it is.
