APATP is no joy. I got the offer about a month ago. They emailed me Homestead and Jacksonville. If I do get it and if I do except, then I would rather be in JAX. Not sure about my score, I have to look it up. I figure it mainly covers Part 91. It has been a long time since I've done an airline interview, trying to get the cobwebbs out.

APTAP just opened up a new, more secure Forum. If you go to APTAP - Army Pilot to Airline Pilot you will see the link to the new forum on the left side of the page. You can register and start posting.
I expect it'll take a couple weeks for the current APTAPers to migrate over but when you do you'll get a wealth of CBP knowledge from them.
The old forum is now read only and only accessable to former members.

I just applied yesterday. I have no idea what the minimums are however. I am in the low 700's on time, but have a Spanish minor at the University level. Do I have any chance? Any insight would be appreciated.

minimum of 1500 hours total flight time (100 hours of airplane and/or helicopter within the last 12 months) including 250 Pilot-in-Command and 75 instrument/night hours. Your full flight log book will be required at time of interview for verification.
NOTE: Up to 50% of the 1500 hour total flight requirement may be waived upon verification of prior specialized skills and experiences (e.g., general military flight experience and training, complex aircraft flight instructor experience, multi-engine aircraft time, night vision device operations, imminent danger, and terrain and/or over-water operations.)

You applied to become a federal law enforcement officer who will carry a weapon every day, hold a Secret clearance, and have the authority to arrest suspects anywhere in the US (and jointly, in many countries). This is not an entry level job. Although vastly different in scope and duties, it's more comparable to a major airline in terms of compensation and experience. And just like getting into a major, they are looking for applicants who show preparedness, judgement, and leadership experience equal to the responsibility. As a new hire AIA, I would expect you to be able to do the same research and preparation I did to get this job.
That being said, it is a G-job, and once you meet the mins, you're in the interview pool. Your chances then depend entirely on how high your application/resume scored. The better your answers to the questionaire, the better your chances to interview. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, you didn't apply through USAjobs, which means you didn't apply.
Good luck. I don't mean any of this derogatorally, and hope that if CBP is your goal, you get it. This is a great job, and worth the effort of a high score.
