Got my NOR a few weeks back, scored a 95. Would like to talk to a current AIA about more detailed job info. Would love to be in Homestead or Tampa.

I have been furloughed from my airline, meet all the requirements big time, but do have a ? about my medical. I have a first class, which has lapsed into a second...that is the one I faxed over..should I go and attain a current first class? Thanks to whomever has the intel on this in advance..socal.
I would read the application requirements again. When I applied, I believe it stated "a current first class physical." I am not sure what the new job announcement says, though. Good luck, but I would definately do what they ask for...

I have been reading in this forum a lot and am trying to figure out my chances of getting hired into the CBP. I gave it a shot and applied, got my NOR of 95. This was recieved MAR 11. I get out of the military soon and wonder how long it will take to get an interview. It seems that I am just as anxious as everyone else! Anyone have any idea of the timeframe between the NOR to interview? Thanks

There is really no set time from NOR to interview. They do not interview till they get a request for new AIA. When requests come, they put a list together of applicants in the order of qualifications (NORs). You just hope that you are far enough up on the list to get an interview. Once you are at the interview, it is up to you to tell them why you are right for the job..... at least that is how I understand it....

just went out and got my ATP and citation type hoping that would help my chances. score bounced from an 86 to an 89....lot of work for 3 points. I really hope I make the cutoff with that kinda score. From what I've heard from them, when CBP decides they need pilots, they just call as many as they need to interview from the applications they have...in order of NOR score.

Go to CBP.gov - home page to check out the aviation slicks of aircraft. Pay is on the announcement. Starts at GS11 goes to GS13 without interviewing.

Does anyone know how the CBP notifies you for an interview? Is it by mail? Phone call? Email? Also, that APTAP website is GREAT! Just reviewed it and book marked it. Thanks to those that have created it!

Question Competative CBP rating?

What is a competative rating for a pilot position? I just recieved an 83, i assume that i am a shot in the dark for a job.
