I made the transition from the Navy. But my good friend (who sits in the desk right beside me) is an Army DCA. I'm sure he would be willing to answer any question if you pm me (or post it here). I've been on both sides of the interview table here in the CG. My CO signed my conditional letter of release over a year prior to my end of obligated service. I just told them what my availability date was when I interviewed. The Coast Guard has gotten stricter since then, so they now publish a date range for commissioning for each board.

From the announcement: "In Fiscal Year 2016, applicants with fixed wing experience will be especially desired."
Are the airlines hiring or something?
