OUCH! I wouldn't have thought putting mattresses down would have worked in the first place knowing what a powerful downdraft those engines put out. Any details on whether it was a student or instructor or if there was an instructor in the backseat during this?

I haven't seen anything on this so I don't even know what classification mishap this resulted in, but seriously it doesn't look like that much damage to the airframe from what you can see in the last picture. The aircrew didn't even jettison the canopy.

A base where they have AV-8Bs? (or TAV-8Bs in this case)
