NO 365TDYs for Retired Pilots Returning to AD
Great news for Retired Air Force pilots wanting to return to Active Duty under the Retired Rated Officer Recall Program. Updated information from AFPC as of 26 Feb 09 specifically EXCLUDES retired pilots returning to AD from all 365-day deployments. Reference is on AFPC - Air Force Personnel Center under Military - Voluntary Officer Return to Active Duty - Retired Rated Recall Program FAQ's.
Q12. Can officers recalled via Retired Rated Officer Recall Program be deployed?
A12. Yes, by volunteering for recall under this Retired Rated Officer Recall Program officers have volunteered for and are eligible or deployment but not for the 365 day deployment.
That about seals the deal for me -- back to Active Duty for one final hoorah!

Sounds great, but
There are still a lot of 4 and 6 month TDYs that you'll be subject to. Since I'm still on active duty I haven't researched the AFSCs they'll be filling. But I'm sure you'll be subject to a few shorter TDYs to the desert. That is unless the President has us out of Iraq when he says we'll be out.
