Default ART vacancies at Altus AFB - possible

Good news for some...

I have not been able to verify this yet, but it makes sense if there is going to be a reserve presence at Altus.

Got word yesterday that there are ART vacancies at Altus AFB. I checked out USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site and did not see them yet. From previous message traffic, there will likely be C-17 and KC-135 pilot/load/boom positions. In today's economy, not a bad deal. For pilots that get hired as instructor pilots, the civilian paycheck is around $90K-$95K for the first year. If you are a reservist, add another $15K-$20K per year for reserve pay on top of that.

Once very interesting sidenote. I don't know how reservists will do their "drill weekend" (UTA) when there is no flying on the schedule on weekends. Could some UPT base reservist folks pipe in on that.

Again, I have not been able to verify on USAjobs.gov about the jobs and I am only the messenger. But if it is true, early bird gets the worm...good luck.

UTAs don't have to be done on a weekend. Either the unit can schedule it's UTAs on a weekday, or more realistically they individuals can reschedule their own UTA squares for whenever they work best.

AGR would be sweet, even if it is Altus.
