"An Army psychiatrist who was about to be deployed to Iraq allegedly armed himself with two guns and opened fire Thursday afternoon on the grounds of Ft. Hood, the country's largest military base, killing 12 people and injuring 31 others."



The shooter, an Army Major, has allegedly made many remarks on the web that are sympathetic to suicide bombers and other terrorist acts. I'm somewhat glad that this guy is still alive in hopes that he may suffer the pain, anguish, and guilt over what he has done. Somehow I don't think that will happen.

Horrible story, interesting that CNN has not said he is a home grown Terrorist. I call it like I see it. Pray for the families.

I think when this is investigated, they will have evidence to suggest that this was premeditated. He posted anti-military information on online boards. Additionally, fellow servicemembers have said that he talked about how he thought it was ok for American soldiers to be attacked over in Afghanistan and Iraq. Is it just a coincidence that this shooting took place in a facility where soldiers were gearin' up to deploy to Iraq/Afghanistan?

The Army CID had been watching this guy. You can't tell me that the teasing this man may have endured was enough to drive him to go on a shooting rampage. He is a professional officer and psychiatrist --- he is supposed to have superb coping mechanisms. And even if he didn't, he surely is the expert on where to go for help.

I am praying for the victims and their families.

I can't beileve these news reporters...they say it might have been anger cuz he got orders to deploy back overseas...that the biggest bunch of BS. This SOB was screaming "ALLAH" while he was shooting and killing.. I dont care who you are, that isnt anger cuz of deployment. I say after he recovers he gets orders to Gitmo and rot....

My thoughts and prayers are with all involved....soo sad.

My sister had just left the building right next to where this tragedy happened just a few minutes earlier. Once again.........a terrorist sympathizer........and in OUR military to boot. How is it we can find an ONE anthrax spore in a warehouse, but we can't see a terrorist in broad daylight, especially when he has arrows pointing right at him? Sad, really sad.

not in the military but do they do background checks? I don't know if it would've changed anything. The scum that will be assigned to defend this animal is just as guilty!

He'll most likely be given an area defense counsel by the Army. The ADC will be required to do defend him. At some point after that, he'll most likely get a civilian lawyer to defend him. That guy will be the scum...not the ADC ordered to defend him.
