Default ANG pilot slots

I recently graduated college and have been instructing. Wondering what it takes to get a pilot slot with the national guard. I was looking at the Boise air national guard since I am originally from that area, but I am open to anything. I understand it takes aptitude tests and an interview. Any extra info will be much appreciated.

baseops.net: there's an entire guard/reserve forum including a sticky thread that's 96.9% of the questions you'll be asked during an interview.

AFOQT and TBAS are the tests. Google them. Study for the AFOQT and don't suck on the TBAS.

search the forum. There's one of these threads per week.

Peace.

College degree, less than 30 years old, pass a military physical including better than 20/70 correctable, score well on AFOQT, and find a unit that will take you.

Factsheets : PILOT REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

My impression is that it is a lot more competitive than getting a regular active duty AF UPT slot, but I think the rewards are worth it. There are a fair number of units hiring right now, if you don't care about geography or airframe. Also look at the Air Force Reserve, and maybe Army National Guard if you're interested in Helo's.

No matter what airframe you choose, be prepared to deploy in combat, living in austere conditions for anywhere from 60-365 days a year. The training and flying are great, but don't come without substantial sacrafice.
