Default Air Guard

I am looking into maybe signing up for the guard. I am a furloughed regional pilot. Anyone have any information on what units have C-17, 130, 135 or KC-10s? What are the odds of getting a guaranteed flight slot?

Thanks in advance for the help

Zero, if you don't apply. Go to Air National Guard - Home and start searching the websites. There are KC-135 and C-130 units everywhere, a few C-17 and KC-10 units. Find ones you could stand living near or near your domicile and start applying.

I'd say go for it if you meet the basic requirements. Under 30, bachelors degree, in good shape, etc etc. And don't forget about the Army National Guard and the Air Force Reserve. I think the Air Force Reserve has at least as many C-130 and other heavy units as the ANG, and the Army has some fixed wing stuff too. I bet that if you meet the basic requirements, can do well on standardized tests, interview well, and don't care where you live, you'll be able to find a unit that will pick you up.

baseops.net

They have a link for a ton of units hiring, with the contact info and requirements.

I thought it had been a week since the last ANG thread.

You will not find a Guard KC-10 unit.

You will, however, find 4 Reserve KC-10 squadrons at Travis and McGuire.

Truth. From what I've seen, the 76th and 78th out of McGuire send at least 2 UPT studs a year each. PAOK can comment further if she's not too busy at CBM.
