Default ATP Practical CAE Dallas, in the simulator

Army CH47, C-12, MC-12 guy. I just did my ATP ride in Dallas, at the CAE simulator complex, within a couple of miles of DFW airport. Took the ride in a king air 350 simulator. Examiner was an in-house TCE, trading center evaluator, FAA part 142. Ride was heavily focused on the aircraft systems, limits, and emergency procedures for the oral. For the ride, straight forward for the most part, be sure to be fresh on legacy navigation as he failed my both FMSs for my VOR circle approach. Great experience overall and I passed, very thankful and humbled. PM if you need more intel.

I did my ATP on my 737 check, but also just did a BE300 course at CAE as well.

The 737 might look better in a airline application, but you can likely find work quickly with a 300/350 type and currency.

Someone mentioned SAT and Stinson here? Can you provide more details?
I got mine, but I have friends in that area who are looking to do a practical.

Thanks

Quick question for someone that might know the answer to this. I already hold an ATP ME and was thinking about doing a SEL ATP add on. I have a ASES also on the commercial single engine and was wondering if the SES would upgrade to an ATP as well?

No. It is a different class, hence different requirements. Take the checkride in an amphib and do two at once.

Hi guys, new to forum. After reading through this long thread it looks like there are multiple options out there to get this done. I am specifically interested in the Boston guy or Middle River aviation. Does anyone have any recent experience with either? Feel free to PM me with any details.

Most military guys don't need any kind of type to be competitive. If you don't have any skeletons and your hours and experience sound a lot like the last 10 guys to get hired, I would spend as little as possible on this square filler rating.

I did my ATP in a C21 while giving a local training flight to 5 other pilots. The FAA guy didn't ask us what color the tires were. He spent the majority if his time filing out the paperwork on the divan seat and taking a nap.

Course that was a LONG time ago.
