We are located near Mt Tam, along the 1 highway about midway between the coast of SFO bay at Mill Valley and the Pacific coast.
It may have been a private jet such as an L39 but it sounded a little more heavy duty. I thought it was a Hornet maybe. But hard to tell for sure.
As long as they were having fun......

As TarHeelPilot said, Beale didn't fly on Monday. He is also correct in that most of our pilots stay on the coastline. I personally like to go north up Bonita Cove, and right by Mt Tam if I'm giving an orientation flight to a VIP. That's about the only time I go out for a VFR leg in that area.
There are a ton of folks I know with L-39s in the area. Not a loud jet, though.
I blame Lemoore!!
Seriously, though, there are a couple of other options, but I don't want to mention them since they are my friends.

Understood. My question is as an enthusiast, not intended to finger point. I love nothing more than seeing a fast jet going . . . .fast. And making a ton of noise too. Unfortunately the RAAF was not employing pilots back in my younger days growing up in Australia otherwise I would have kicked their door down.
