Default FY14 Bonus?

Anyone have any gouge on an FY 14 Pilot Bonus for Active Duty or ANG release date or progress?

Based on your profile pic I'm guessing it won't effect you, but my buddy at ACSC was told that they were likely to not offer it to 11Ms this year. They didn't say when they would release it.

There's been speculation of it going away for years. Don't believe it. The 25k for 5 years will be available for all pilot groups

Don't take it...whatever it is. It's a trap.

I second Hilltopper...especially with what is going on in the Majors. Will the mil draw down and RIF boards you will be doing nothing more of guaranteeing yourself sleepless nights worrying about whether you will have a job or not. The DoD is not the safety net it use to be. And just because you have signed a contract for extra money doesn't mean they won't tell you to take a hike.

So what's wrong w taking the money and if they break their contract, they can suck it. You take the money and run. Business is business.

It doesn't work that way. You'll pay back any prorated amount. I wouldn't touch the bonus with a ten foot pole. Keep your options open.

The bonus commits the pilot, not the USAF. Definitely a one way contract

Actually, I agree with you (not taking the bait and keep your options open) for Active Duty peeps. My scenario is that I'm about to go on mil leave from my airline and take a 3 year AGR tour so I'd be happy to sign the bonus for what I was going to do anyway.

Default FY14 Bonus?

Gotta do whats right for you and yours.

I was staying in anyway so it was basically a free $125k. Kids have a great start on their college funds.
