I actually had a great time there, during my 4 year tour.
Good memories from Del Rio days.

The lake is actually perfect right now. Not too high and definitely not too low. They're going to have to close the spur 454 boat ramp if it gets much higher.

Nobody in their right mind goes to Acuna anymore, fairly dangerous and not a place to hang out anymore.

Lake Amistad WAY low. Still fishing tournaments etc tho

Info is current of of today
Wow, 12 mo. in Del Rio, with no Boys Town and no lake would SUCK! I had a great time there, but we had both of those to keep us occupied, and when we really, really got bored, we'd load up and drive to Randolff, looking for the Augie Doggies!

But they probably closed that too, right?

Standards? Augie Doggies? Aren't those mutually exclusive terms?

I heard Julio's is still selling chips by the bucket. I can usually find their product in HEB in San Antonio when I am in TX along with some of their salsa.

The Auger has turned into your standard nobody-wants-to-go-mandatory-fun-colonel-and-above-destination. 100% ruined.

I heard the new students are told they will be removed from the program if found in Mexico. That might be putting a damper on things.

Since when does a 23yr. old 2Lt. have any standards?

I graduated Laughlin 30 years ago, come May this year, it was a lot of fun back then, windsurfing and waterskiing on the lake, going to Boys Town on Friday nights for some cheap tequila and great food, then on to the disco, then to the Donkey Show! Sounds like they found a way to ruin it, as with most things, if it's too much fun, some d-bag will outlaw it.
