Tricare Prime or Standard?
Back when I retired Tircare Prime seemed to be the cheapest option with the $12 co-pay so I just hit the Easy Button and signed up. But now it seems less and less places take it so it is becoming a pain.
Anyone out there have a good comparison between Prime and Standard? Standard's costs are sort of cryptic on their web site. It has caps, deductibles and then talks about 20% of the "negotiated" fee but doesn't tell you what that fee is. It sounds like way more that $12. I am trying to decide if switching to standard will be worth the convenience.
We are mainly interested because my bride is pregnant and having trouble finding OBs that will take Prime and she doesn't want to go to the Naval Hospital.
