While I am a big proponent of something for nothing, sometimes it's worth buckling down and shelling out the coin. I know, foreign concept for pilots but in todays world the op's friend could pay the coin and go to a interview prep company(who's expertise is to counsel in these matters) and get accurate advice. Not dissin the question being asked, just the request to have guest help(pro players) post info for free. I am a total amateur and have no connection to any of the prep companies. I think Albie goes above and beyond with info for all of us, but I do think at some point you gotta pay to play.

Just saying

I took Albie's interview prep and this wasn't discussed, although in all fairness it was never brought up. By that point, everyone had their numbers down. His only point that he made was be able to defend every hour and don't get flustered when someone starts asking about details. He didn't go into the nuts and bolts of calculating.
I am telling you guys, it isn't that hard. Use one of the techniques mentioned on this forum and be able to explain it and you are good. Some guys use only seat time, others use a percentage of total time for PIC, others use other methods. I have never heard of any military pilot screwing up the logbook review. I know I personally wish I would have devoted more time to other things as mine was a non event and was essentially just another part of the interview Q and A.
