Default AirlineApps Military Status Question?

In the process of updating my AirlineApps profile and unsure what to select for the Military Status drop-down box. The choices are:

Active
Inactive
Retired
Honorable Discharge
Dishonorable Discharge
Other

I separated on December 31, 2014 under a VSP, but when we separated we had to agree to sign a 3 year Inactive Ready Reserve commitment. I was also under the impression that our DD214's would say Honorable Discharge.

So my question is should I select "Inactive" or "Honorable Discharge"?

So did you get a DD214? I don't get how you would separate and not get one.

Just select "Dishonorable Discharge" and you won't have any issues or have to answer any pesky interview questions either! Oh, just kiddin'....

So, DD214 or no?

I did. I'm still in the process of retrieving it from AFPC, but I do know it says Honorable Discharge. I'm just wondering if I'm better off putting Inactive considering I signed an agreement to serve 3 years in the Inactive Ready Reserve?

Put honorable discharge. The IRR doesn't mean anything.

If you're IRR, put it on the app. You still technically hold a commission and are eligible for mobilization. It won't mean anything to your app, until you're sitting across from a bunch of Delta Admirals asking you why your DD214 says IRR and you put honorable discharge on your app.

Under block 24 on your 214 it will list "Character of Service". It will say Honorable, not IRR. I believe the "inactive" listed on Airline Apps is referring to other forms of inactivity (med hold/legal hold) etc. I would bet having selected "honorable" will mean more point wise as well. Just my opinion. I am sure it doesn't really matter in the end anyway, I interviewed and was hired without even having a DD-214 yet. It was never mentioned.

Honorable Discharge is your answer. Don't overthink it.

If the IRR gets called up, things are so bad you'll lose your airline job anyway if you haven't already been sent for a dirt nap.
