Default Military tail numbers

How are you guys logging military tail numbers? I fly Blackhawks, and it is not the standard N-number. I created 1 profile with one of our fleets tail numbers and have been using that for all my entries. Basically 1 tail number for all my flights. Is that a problem if I am able to explain why I am doing it and back it up with my military flight records? Any input would be great. Thanks!

I input all my military flights into logbook pro.

In aircraft ident, I have the following:
Navy/Marine, used the BuNO, normally a 6 digit number 162348, 161412, etc
Army/USAF is logged on tail number, 10-00386, 85-2444 etc
(logic is that Navy tail numbers are repeated in squadrons, and aren't tied to the airframe)

Any other stuff just gets N123AB numbers
Sims get a "description" Like Model is BE300 and identification is CAE-BT-D (CAE's BT sim, Level D) or POT-FTD-B (Potomac FTD level B)

What do you log when you fly off a career? Does it have it's own three letter identifier?? Never thought of that before...

Thank you! Do you think it would be a problem if I were looking at going civilian to have a log book that is only 1 tail number like I have been doing if I were able to explain it?

Better to use the actual tail numbers. Anything you can avoid having to explain

For the carrier, I just put CV67, CVN69 and CVN72 down

I just listed "USAF" for the tail numbers for all of my mil flights in my personal log book that the interviewers looked at. They didn't even question it.

Standard Navy logbooking uses the BuNo as described above.

In my logbook I have the type of and model (ex. UH60L or UH60A+) as well as the full serial number (ex. 00-26871). Really what it boils down to is being able to explain to the hiring panel how/why you logged the flight time the way you did.

So, I see you flew a King Air, with a civilian registration, out of Bargram Air Base.
